Film Honoring Pat Summitt’s International Legacy Debuts at the Bijou Theatre
On September 7, 2017, Coaching Change and espnW presented “Pat: A Legacy of Love, “ a documentary film dedicated to legendary women’s basketball coach, Pat Summitt, and her role in the rebuilding of women’s basketball in Iraq. The event is designed to honor the legacy of Coach Summitt and the tens of thousands of girls and women she has inspired around the world through basketball.
The film was produced by University of Tennessee graduates, Sarah Hillyer and Ashleigh Huffman, now co-founders and directors of the Center for Sport, Peace, and Society at the University of Tennessee. The film stars former players, administrators, and journalists, including Michelle Brooke-Marciniak, Holly Warlick, Joan Cronan, and Sally Jenkins.
The event was held on September 7, 2017 at the Bijou Theatre in downtown Knoxville and included an orange carpet entrance, a VIP experience, interactive exhibits, and various opportunities to make a difference locally and globally.

A portion of the proceeds from this event benefited the Pat Summitt Foundation as well as the girls and women fighting for their right to play sports around the world.
